Give the gift of comfort this Christmas

With Christmas just around the corner, we thought it timely to write about products that make great gifts.

Products, such as sheepskin – now before you say oh, this is for people who experience a cold, white Christmas, read on so we can explain.

Most people think of sheepskin as keeping us warm and comfortable in the winter – but did you know that sheepskin offers year-round comfort?

Sheepskin helps the body regulate temperature. In hot conditions, sheepskin absorbs sweat instantly and omits it into the air up to seven times faster than synthetic materials, to cool you down quicker. The hollow fibres in the fleece, allow it to breathe.

In 2011 research found that participants sleeping on wool in hot conditions slept for significantly longer, had faster sleep onset and woke up less frequently during the night than participants sleeping on a mattress covered only by a sheet.

Sheepskin is a hydrophilic material which gives it the ability to absorb moisture without feeling wet. Able to carry almost one-third of its weight in liquid before feeling damp to the touch.

Improved pressure redistribution is a proven quality of sheepskin, with the fibres acting like a tiny spring and absorbing pressure without flattening out.

Sheepskin is simple to look after with small stains and light soiling being spot cleaned quickly with a damp cloth.

At WOW Mobility & Rehab, you will find several sheepskin products for either yourself or for a great gift for a loved one.
