Looking After Your Mobility Products

Keep your mobility equipment in peak condition with our tips and tricks for regular servicing and care to ensure you always get the best out of your products.

The good news is that scooters require very little maintenance so a few simple checks and regular services can keep you on the road. Manufacturers recommend doing an annual service which takes a couple of hours and can be carried out by specialist maintenance and repair experts in your home or at a workshop. It’s recommended that you give your scooter a major check every three to four years.

Some tips for keeping your scooter in tip top condition:

  • Make sure you’re storing your scooter in a safe and weather proof area with access to a power point to allow for regular charging when the scooter is not in use. Make sure you keep your scooter’s battery charged and ready to go.
  • If your scooter gets dirty, make sure you get rid of any dust, dirt, and debris as soon as you can. If it’s wet, dry it off. These little things can go a long way to helping you to avoid bigger problems down the road.
  • Each week, give your scooter a quick wipe over with a soft, damp cloth and use cleaning products if needed.
  • Check your tyre pressure each week and fill them if necessary. Your owner’s manual will tell you what pressure they need to be filled to.
  • Check for any punctures or cracks and make sure nothing has become lodged in your tyres.
  • Each month, check your tyre treads to make sure they’re not too worn
