Supports funded through NDIS

WOW! Mobility & Rehab provides many customers with supports funded through the NDIS. Mobility equipment, products that help with daily household tasks, and therapeutic supports, to name a few.

If you haven’t applied for NDIS before, you can download the required forms or phone and make a verbal access request.

If you have already been able to access NDIS, you will find that COVID-19 has created some changes to how the NDIA function, such as NDIA contacting you by phone to undertake your plan review and discuss the option of having your plan in place for 24 months. Plan reviews are being automatically extended if NDIA hasn’t been able to complete a plan review.

Core supports help you with everyday activities and is the most flexible. Consumables: These are everyday items you may need: continence products or low-cost assistive technology such as modified cutlery and handrails to improve your independence and mobility. You may also use these funds to do minor repairs to aids and equipment (assistive technology) such as wheelchair tyre puncture repair.

Capacity Building Supports help build your independence and skills to help you reach your long-term goals. Unlike your Core Supports budget, your Capacity Building Supports cannot be moved from one support category to another.

Capital Supports include:

Assistive Technology: This includes equipment for mobility, personal care, communication, and recreational inclusion such as communication devices, wheelchairs or vehicle modifications.

Home Modifications: Home modifications such as installing a handrail in a bathroom or Specialist Disability Accommodation for participants who require special housing because of their disability.

You have choice and control about what supports and services you need to achieve your goals, where and when they are provided and by whom. Some participants ask family or friends to help them make these decisions, while others may ask their ECEI Coordinator, LAC or Support Coordinator for help.
