How do you choose the right Lift Chair?

There are so many different types of lift chairs; it can become quite confusing. A lift chair not only supports you gently to a sitting position, or back up to a standing position, they can offer you relief and relaxation when you need it the most.

But how do you know which chair is right for your situation? We have listed several things you should consider.

Like people who have poor circulation should consider a chair that reclines, so the feet are positioned high. A full recline or zero gravity chair will assist with this and can alleviate some pressure on the lower back.

Those with limited mobility or recovering from an injury may benefit best from a chair that comes with a vibration massage unit.

Fit is essential for comfort. If the chair is too big, your feet will not be able to reach the floor when the chair is in the lift position. Too small, then the chair may not adequately support you in the lower back region. It is crucial to check the manufacturer’s suggested range of height.  Lift chairs are often referred to in three main sizes such as petite, medium and large.

Weight capacity is a must to consider as this assists with the longevity of the motor. If you plan on having the grandkids snuggle up with you, then make sure you take some added weight into the equation.

Space is required around the chair to allow room for reclining. Both behind the chair, to fully recline and in front, for the footrest. Measure the area you want your chair to go before you start looking to avoid getting a chair too big for your room.

Fabrics are various and mostly for aesthetic reasons. Leather may be an excellent choice for someone who wants a chair that is easy to clean but maybe not the best choice for someone that sweats a lot. There are, however, many absorbent products that can assist with protecting the chair.
